Haddie and Family
Happy Haddie was something that started as a passion for taking care of Haddie and my bonus son Tucker. Haddie was our little miracle baby. We prayed for a few years for her. After numerous set backs and let downs, God blessed us with our little miracle.
I had the opportunity to be able to take 3 months off of work when I had Haddie. What a great blessing it was to be able to spend that precious time with her. As my maternity leave ended I wasn't sure how I was going to be able to handle being away from her. To date, going back to work was the hardest thing I have ever had to do. I went back to work and with the oil downturn in Oklahoma, I was laid off 3 months later. Again I was fortunate enough to be able to take some time for myself and spend a few more months at home with Haddie. During this time she was transitioning to solid foods, so I began making all of her food at home. What I found, very quickly, was that this was not an easy endeavor and certainly would not be once I had to go back to work. To make a three week supply was taking me almost 9 hours.
I tried a few of the high end organic baby food suppliers out there to see if there were any that I felt good about giving to Haddie. I tried them myself, as I have a strict rule, "Haddie doesn't eat anything I would not eat". I believe I tried pears. I say I believe, because I remember having to read the label 3 times and saying to myself that taste nothing at all like a pear. It tastes like sugar and water. At that point I knew my husband and I had to do something for our baby. What became our passion for Haddie quickly became a business venture for our family. As we talked to more and more people, we found that 90% of moms felt the same way. Thus Happy Haddie was born.
